Krups Coffee Makers
Krups is a German kitchen appliance manufacturer, named after its founder Robert Krups. It is often confused with the Krupp conglomerate.
The company also produces a large variety of household appliances. Krups competes with DeLonghi, Sunbeam-Oster, Braun, Salton, Bosch and Black & Decker.

History
The company began in 1846 manufacturing precision scales and mainly industrial balance [disambiguation needed]s, from Wald [disambiguation needed], near Solingen in North Rhine Westphalia. This was the company's main "bread-and-butter" for the next 110 years.
* 1951- Following the 1950's postwar reconstruction and economic boom in Germany, 'Krups moved into the lucrative consumer appliance arena.
* 1959- Releases the highly popular '3Mix (German, Drei-Mix) mixing machine- soon a fixture in every West German household.
* 1961 Releases the ONKO coffee machine- still available as the F468.
* 1965- launches first slicer- highly popular in Germany where sausage (wurst) and cheese is consumed as staples.
* 1983- first coffee machines released
* 1990- Krups employs 3000 people in 4 German factories, one in Limerick, Ireland with annual revenue of DM 541 million. Coffee machines make the bulk of sales of 40% Germany and 30% in USA.
* 1991 Krups undertakes joint venture with Nestlé to produce the 'Nespresso machine.
* 1996- 150th anniversary.
* 2001- joines Groupe SEB following bankruptcy
* 2005 Group SEB reorients Krups market as a premium brand and employs designer Konstantin Grcic.
* to date Krups headquarters are located in Solingen and Offenbach am Main.
